When using a beamsplitter in an optical
system it is very important that all of the light which is incident
upon the coating be either transmitted or reflected with a minimal
loss due to absorption in the coating. Unlike metal beamsplitters,
which have a large loss due to absorption, these beamsplitters
are constructed of all dielectric, low-absorption materials.
The resultant absorption is approximately 0.5% to 1.0%, depending
upon the R/T
ratio. All of the beamsplitters listed in this section are
designed for use at a 45° angle of incidence in randomlypolarized
light. Custom beamsplitters are available for specific angles
and polarization states, and will be quoted upon request. Please

To minimize any second surface reflections, all uncoated surfaces
are broadband anti-reflected coated. All coatings are hard and
durable, and will meet or exceed the following environmental
specifications:
