Custom Polishing

For many applications where high resolution is required, the standard commercial polish may not be adequate. Andover offers many different types of substrates polished to a higher degree of optical quality and to more exacting specifications. The standard commercial optical quality is typically a flatness of 3 to 5 waves per inch and parallelism of 3 arc minutes or better. Our high quality polishing is a flatness of 1/4 wave per inch and parallelism of 30 arc seconds or better. The surface quality specification is also much higher: 40/20 for our high quality polishing, and 80/50 for our commercial quality. Custom Fabrication

In addition to custom polishing, we offer a custom glass fabrication service. In many cases the standard sizes may not be adequate and it is often very difficult to find a firm that will provide custom sizes and shapes. This is not a problem for Andover since a major portion of our business is custom manufacturing. Please contact one of our technical sales representatives for a quotation on your requirements.
